Black Friday Madness

When I was younger, cousins Melissa, Steph, and I used to go out at 6 or 7am with Cathy for Black Friday shopping at the Galleria. We used to buy a few presents for ourselves or others and usually help her pick out a super cute outfit to wear on New Years Eve. Such good memories. Then I started working at Gap senior year. So Black Friday's during my college years were spent working at the Niagara Falls Outlet mall, and now that I'm done there, Black Friday means shopping with my girls :) This year Alyssa, Marianne and I headed out at 4am and shopped til noon at Galleria, and every store imaginable on Transit, and then the good ol' Lockport Mall : ) And finished the morning with a lunch with Mr. Brooks at the Fieldstone* Check out Marianne's car overflowing with our great deals!!
Totally worth it :) Less than 355 days til next time!! WOOHOO!

Thanksgiving Fun*

I'm always a fan of Thanksgiving, because it is the most low-key of the holidays... At least for me... I guess when I'm the one cooking everything, I'll probably retract that statement.. But really, in my world, you wake up, check out all the ads, watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, then go to Grandma Heim's, then to Grandma Wuff's super warm house, look at some more ads, eat the skin off the turkey, pig out on everything imaginable, then slip into a food induced coma :) All in all a great day! This year, went a little different... I went out in Fairport with Mike and his friends (who are awesome*) and was sleeping by 1... Too bad, the stomach flu I had been successfully been fighting off, finally got the best of me that night... Which is why I dont understand the phenomenon of getting wasted Thanksgiving Eve. Who really wants to be sick and hungover when there is so much food? Anyways, missed watching the parade, since I was driving home at that time. Went to Grandma Heim's, then Grandma Wuffs, where for the first time ever we ate super early because our 29 lb. Tom the Turkey decided to cook way too fast. Too bad for him, that he was the most beautiful looking turkey ever, because he lost his skin in about 5 minutes flat... If that. And the skin is GONE!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

Wow. Almost a month between blogs. I am NOT good at this. But I've been busy! Very, very busy!! Between traveling to Notre Dame, home for Thanksgiving, trips to Brockport, a Baptism in Syracuse, parent teacher conferences, and craziness at school, and then on top of it, my computer battery and adapter going, I haven't had much time or have been able to post. But I'm borrowing an adapter so here come the pictures! I've been busy this week/weekend decorating for CHRISTMAS. My absolute favorite time of the year. Not because of the presents. But for the whole season, the traditions, and the feeling you get : ) I LOVE IT!

Now that I live in a nice big apartment.. I have 2 Christmas trees... (well actually 4 if you count my mini tree, and our silver WhoVille Ikea Trees...) Here are some pictures of my living room :)

Celtic Festival & Big Swords

My friend Nick and I with our BIG swords after winning Male and Female Athlete of the Day at the Niagara Celtic Festival in September : ) Long day, good times! My dad and Mr. & Mrs. Meehan came out to watch the festivities! The sword is on one of my windows in my apartment... I can only imagine what my landlord thinks ; ) What's not to love about a man in a kilt? The manly men throwing VERRRY high. Its a cool festival because we are part of the entertainment, and they treat us good!!

H-A-LL-O-W-EE-N!

My most vivid memory of primary school is Halloween time with Mrs. Few in music class. (a close 2nd is the huge paper mache dinosaur...) Singing halloween songs and making shadows behind the curtain. The famous Halloween song (and what I sing to myself every time I write the word...) "H, A, double L, O, W, double E, N, spells Halloween!" Yes I'm a loser.

Anyways, now that I have the day off I can finally upload pictures to my computer, while Norman sits above me on the couch and takes a nap : )

We were supposed to be from the 1920's and they were Vikings. Mike and I before we left my apt and Katy and Laslo at our first stop- Wally's; on the bar tour my landlord took us on :)And the journey back to my apartment at the end of the night... With my landlord leading the way back with his light... ; )

My New Man

Meet Norman. I adopted him today at Lollypop Farm (http://www.lollypop.org/) in Fairport. : ) He is about 6 and 1/2 months old, and was just brought to the shelter yesterday. Apparently his mommy and daddy got a divorce, and he was sent packing as a result. He was a little scared when we met him this morning, but it had to do with the fact that his mom abandoned him and then one of the cats he was sharing a cage with decided to pick on him and beat him up a little this morning. He looked like he had potential to be a sweetheart, and he proved it. He slept on my lap the whole ride home : ) He's a cutie. And he came from a home where he lived and got along well with other cats, a dog, and kids! More pictures to come*
(His name when he came to the shelter was Norman. I think I like it though, and it fits him... There is a possibility it will still change though...)

Summer Memories

Since I've been incredibly motivated to clean, organize, and do laundry since I got home from work, I still have yet to load all of my new pictures onto my computer... So I'm posting a few nice ones from the summer : ) I could say, "man, I wish it was still summer," but lets be honest, with days like we're having this week (70 degrees in November), we CANNOT complain. I also can't complain too much because November is an awesome month for teachers... Awesome because it is so broken up, but in my life that might make the kids act out, so we'll see how I feel when the month is over ; )
Picture 1... A random Sunday at the Meehan's... Lol. Shannon, Davis, and I passed out in the middle of the day... I think it might have been the day after Nick & JoAnna's wedding... But still, it makes me happy that I can just fall asleep there like I would if I was at Grandma's on a Sunday... : )
Throwing the flaming hammer at Brockport... Best tradition ever : )
After a walk around Durand Eastman, we went for a drive... cant remember why, and we ended up driving into a horrible thunderstorm, but when the rain stopped the lightning was awesome!
